We had a great trip (Xian, Guilin, Tibet, Yangtze River Cruise).  What a memorable time for me and my two sons.  We are in Beijing for the next 2 weeks with my wife and will be doing some site seeing around the city so I have many more photos to take. 

Thank you so much for assitance with the planning of the trip.  Everything went smoothly and we had a great time!

I recently just discovered the Trip Advisor App for my iPhone.  It has been really useful so I will post something on the web site for China Expedition Tours.

My daughters and I went to Shanghai to attend an Expo,thus we had limited time for sightseeing. My daughters wanted to see the mountains of Huangshan (Yellow Mountains) and the ancient village of Hongcun. Our only available days were April 30 to May 2, which unfortunately is a long holiday in China thus a lot of Chinese were expected to visit these very popular tourist sites. China Expedition Tours rearranged our schedule to make sure that we will not be wasting our limited time on lining up. They also assigned to us an energetic and very knowledgeable tour guide who also spoke English very well. China Expedition Tours’ attention to details made sure that we were able to appreciate the culture and craftsmanship of the Chinese people (which dates back to centuries ago) and to enjoy the mystical Yellow Mountains.

It was all so wonderful - and the home stays were the best!! What an amazing opportunity that was for us to get a more real experience of being in China. If I were younger I would want to learn Chinese and go live there for a year or so. As I age I feel a strong sense of wanting to know what the world really is and will be like when I'm gone. I want to feel that there's good hope for understanding and peace in the world --- --- and I so felt that among the people we met there. How could all those hardworking, intelligent and kind folks, who are striving to do their best and who care so much about their children, put up with anything but the best of opportunities? I'm not worried for two generations from now, and maybe only one. 

The sheer bigness of buildings and squares and traffic and crowds was impressive to me especially too, in the ways that somehow it all appeared to be working in usually peaceful and often exciting ways. 

And of course the cutting edge of things is always exciting to experience - Shanghai being especially great for that. Besides the variety and creativity in the tall buildings and the amazing Shanghai Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art there was mind-blowing to me. With a beautiful exhibit of art by emerging young artists, the works were often both quite delicate and also wrenching - most stimulating! I wondered if there was much censorship and if it didn't somehow make for greater discipline and help to create art that was more deeply meaningful.... and of course with the rich history of art you all have under your skin somewhere...I haven't been moved so much by an art exhibition in a long time. 

Hi Alex, The tour that you arranged for us on Oct 11, 2012 was excellent. We enjoyed it very much. Upon arrival at Guilin airport on Oct 10th, you met us and from then on our pleasures continued. Guilin is a very lovely city in my mind but we don't arrange more time there. Soon we went to Kunming and continued our tour with another exellent guide. And the last tour in Beijing, the Forbidden City was very informative. The environment in Beijing restaurants was outstanding, have never seen such beautiful restaurants, so stylishly decorated before! Hotels were very good for the most part as well as their breakfasts. China Expedition Tours was an excellent choice for us, very flexible tours (which helps when travelling with a baby), also very informative and able to answer questions very quickly. We had wonderful time traveling around Guilin, just as my wife said, Guilin was such fascinated place that we would love to spend the rest of our life there, green hills and clear waters ,friendly people and beautiful scenery, it is just so perfect. Planed by China Expedition Tour, we discovered marvelous the Longsheng rice terraces, splendid project of wisdom. And Li River cruise was also amazing, Elephant Trunk Hill is full of history and we can not help to take photos there in memory of such lovely place. And story about Fubo Hill is compelling, our guide is humorous, she shared with us funny story without reservation, we spend pleased moment with each other, I just say she is so great. China Expedition Tour is so helpful and professional, we gonna miss their work team and miss Guilin, such pretty city.
